He says on a final note<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><i>I also wonder if there isn\u2019t an element of \u2018if it wasn\u2019t invented in the US it hasn\u2019t been invented\u2019 about much of this, and 10 years from now people will be writing papers that cite Stanford as the initiator of open courses<\/i>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By the way these institutional initiatives have ignored all prior history on MOOCs, distance education and online learning, that seems a very plausible outcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.edtechie.net\/mooc\/moocs-inc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MOOCs Inc<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/josemota.pt\/sr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/image.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2137\" style=\"width:169px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/josemota.pt\/sr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/image.png 500w, https:\/\/josemota.pt\/sr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/image-300x225.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>I thought I\u2019d write a couple of posts around MOOCs, and in particular, the sudden awakening of senior management, media and companies to them. I don\u2019t think this post is really saying much more than \u2018hmm, interesting isn\u2019t it?\u2019.
