Eeek. I can\u2019t help but think back to a point that Larry Lessig makes in \u201cRepublic, Lost\u201d where he points out that there are more laws to curb media piracy on the books than there are to curb pollution. &#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"g-crossposting-att\">\n<div class=\"g-crossposting-att-title\"><a href=\"https:\/\/socialmediacollective.org\/2012\/01\/17\/stop-sop\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">We need to talk about piracy (but we must stop SOPA first)<\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"g-crossposting-att-txt\">Much to my happiness, the internets are in a frenzy about the \u201cStop Online Piracy Act\u201d (aka SOPA). Congress is currently in recess, but the House announced a hearing on the potential impact to the Domain Name Service on January 18 and everyone expects the Senate to begin discussing a similar bill \u201cPROTECT IP Act\u201d when they return to DC on January 24.
